2008 JUDI GARMAN SOFTBALL CLASSIC “This year's edition will be quite special as, for the second time in the history of the tournament, the United States National Team will make Fullerton one of their stops during its "Bound for Beijing" Tour in preparation for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in China.
We had lots of fun meeting some of the stars of the National Team. Jessica Mendoza is awesome! She is fun to talk to and so gracious and kind. She does a great job announcing at the College Softball World Series. Thanks so much Jessica for the cool picture and autograph. Jessica was very genuine, sincere and fun to talk to. You are one of our Stanford sports heroes and a real class act. Go Stanford!
Jennie Finch is as tall as I am, six feet one inch. Wow! After standing in the huge line it was fun to get to meet Jennie face to face. I told her that I teach 8th science and I wanted to use her Fox Sports Episode where she breaks the force meter seeing which is harder to hit. It was very fun to meet her and she was nice enough to take a picture with me. Thanks for the autograph and picture Jennie.
“Have any of you ever heard the saying that hitting a baseball is the hardest thing to do in professional sports? This show put that myth to the test. They had on a professional minor league baseball pitcher and Jennie Finch to see if it was harder to hit a baseball from a baseball pitcher or a softball from a softball pitcher.”
I also got to meet my hero Cat Osterman. She dominated the Louisiana-Lafayette batters, but the National team was also challenged by their pitcher in a 1-0 extra-inning game. She signed my Osterman jersey, woo hoo! Thanks so much for the autograph Cat!
