The 411 on Density and Buoyancy

This study guide should help you prepare for the density/convection unit test. Good Luck Woo Hoo!

Remember density is a measurement of how crowded the particles in a substance are.

High density substances have little space between the particles that they are made of.

Low density substances have lots of space between the particles that make thme up.

To find the density of an object you divide the mass of the object by its volume.

1. Check on your density understanding. In each pair of pictures, click on the substance that has the higher density.

2. Osteoporosis A Bone Density Problem

3. Use your journal notes or visit these web to review some of the density disasters like:

Titanic

4. Pictures of density examples.

5. What are convection currents?

6. Test your knowledge of density and see if you survive a day in the Density Diaries!

7.

Do you know how a swim bladder works?
