Substitute Guidelines
1. I expect that everyone will do their best to make sure that things go smoothly while I am away. Try to be helpful to the substitute. It's not an easy job to come into a new classroom with new students.
2. Follow the directions of the substitute the first time and be respectful. Raise you hand to ask questions and or to give an answer.
3. Be quiet after the bell and start copying the problem on the board. Try to answer the problem on the board quickly and be willing to share your answer if you are called on.
4. Check to see if your table is collecting UV or temperature or sunspot or entering the data in the computer. If your table is collecting data, do it quickly and quietly, so the rest of the class can get the information in their journals.
5. Be quiet during videotapes so other students can hear. Do not make comments about the people in the video or do anything that would distract other students.
Positive Rewards!

There will be positive rewards for classes that cooperate and receive an excellent rating from the substitute. Classes that are rated as only good will not receive rewards. You must earn an excellent.
Negative Consequences

There will be negative consequences for classes or that do not cooperate and get a poor rating by the substitute. Any student that has their name written down for not cooperating will receive detention and I will call home to inform parents of the poor cooperation and behavior.
