Below are pictures of scientists at Morrison Labs conducting experiments with air density. They are using a giant solar bag that is 50 ft long by 2 ft in diameter. This mega-trash-bag works like a hot air balloon. It is black so the sun's energy is absorbed and that heats the air inside the bag. The hot air expands and becomes less dense than the colder air outside the bag so the bag rises. It is pretty amazing to see. We did this experiment and it worked fine for my last class of the day and the temperature was 63 degrees Fahrenheit.
