Astrocamp is a 3-day two-night off-campus science school located near Idyllwild in the San Jacinto Mountains. Students are exposed to a unique, hands-on science program designed to teach them about weather, geology, astrophysics, energy, the solar system, light, physics, the environment, space technology, rocketry, and astronomy. Last year the cost was $155.00 for the three days. Scholarships are available for those in need of financial assistance.

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria will include, but will not be limited to:

1. a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 for the year to date

2. no F's

3. no "unsatisfactory (U)" citizenship marks

4. no more than ONE (1) "needs improvement (N)" citizenship mark on previous and current report cards

5. In addition, any student in violation of Ed. Code 48900, which includes any suspendible offense, will be restricted from all extra-curricular activities and functions beyond the 8:25 a.m. to 2:25 p.m. school day for a period of 45 school days. This inclusion includes science camps.

6. When there are more applicants than spaces available, those students with "outstanding (0) " citizenship in all or a majority of their classes will be given special consideration.

7. It is our goal that every student who wishes to attend one of these camps be given that opportunity at least once. Therefore, if there are more applicants than spaces available, a student who has not participated in the past will be chosen over one who has. This applies only to the science camps, and does not include any other trips such as Moka, Japan or Washington D.C.

Applications and will be mailed home in December. A video of past trips will be shown at school. The dates for this year are:
