Fantastic Plastic Lab |
|
In this lab students tested 6 types of plastic resins to try and identify each type. The did a flame test, sink or float density tests for, water, alcohol, and corn oil, and an acetone test. Using a flow chart they conducted tests until the chart told them which type of plastic they had. |

Students put together a portfolio of their best work to desplay at Open House. The portfolio was required to have: 4 experiments, 1 writing sample (either the morrison lakes disaster or the exploding lawn mowers), 2 tests or quizzes ( one from first semester and one from 2nd semester), 10 pages from the journal, 1 illustration or scientific diagram, 1 UV graph from 1st semester and 1 UV graph from 2nd semester. |

|
Students copied all the questions they had missed on the unit test and wrote the correct answers to the questions. This was done on their own paper and stapled to the front of their tests. No letter ansers accepted and the questions must be writen out for full credit. |
